Welcome to Doors of Welcome!

The first of three in the series! Please click on any name in the linklist on my sidebar under Doors of Welcome and you'll be taken to all of the glorious "Doors of Welcome". Sit back and relax, and enjoy your visits!

Hi there! Welcome to our home! We'll be inside waiting for you!
We don't get to go outside, because it might
get our soft and pretty feathers all dirty.
We aren't like the crows you know.

The sun keeps peeking in and out today!

Mr. Scarecrow here has been around for a while.
This year he is sporting a new sunflower and
some new patches to cover the wear and tear he's been taking.

"Scarecrows drool - CROWS RULE!"

Did you know Karen and Mark's first date, back in 1976
(Geez - they're old!)
was to a haunted house? It was in a tiered parking lot at the Mall.
It had live people playing parts - a REALLY scary Haunted House.
She was so scared she had no choice but to hang on to this "guy"
who she didn't even know.
And he was just lovin' it! (wink, wink)

Below is the wreath on the left door. Karen made these
while she was still working at the Interior Designer's shop
a few years ago.

Wreath on the right door.

Lots of yummy things on those wreaths. We've even had to scare off
REAL crows (don't tell the Guy on the pail . . . ) because they think
that all of that was hung out there for them to eat!

As you can see - we're a little more decorated
for Autumn than Halloween
(Karen doesn't like scary things - chicken!)
(GASP! We didn't say that!)

But when it gets dark . . . that's when things light up!
Like the nose on the punkin street sign . . .

Come on in! Would you like a treat?

Oh help yourself. There is plenty more where that came from!
Karen can't keep the stuff she likes out, cause she'll eat it all.
Nope you will NOT find any Tootsie Rolls in here.

This pumpkin witch changes colors with fiberoptics!
We love her. She is really, really BIG!!!

Gasp! Only go up the stairs if you are very brave!

A little bat told me Karen was going to wear that mask
when she answers the door for all the trick-or-treaters this year.
I dunno - I think they might get scared!

Sigh! We won't be here when you come back next month (sniff!)
We'll be packed away and some dumb ol' turkey will be here instead of us.
(But if you register a complaint with the crow -
maybe he'll convince you know who to let us stay!)

BYE! Thanks for coming by!
Now hurry on to the next house, they might have Tootsie Rolls - ya never know!

So...thank you. I love all the scarecrows I am seeing today. What fun and your front porch is just beautiful Happy Fall. xo Lynn

Whew, I made it. Just finished my post. We're big chickens at our house too!

Your porch and entryway are just beautiful. Loved how you did the staircase.

I had to carefully pluck some of my decor out of the rose bushes after all that wind we had! I'll know to tie it all down tight and take photos early for November's door!
