Tablescape Thursday, An Old friend, A New Friend . . . And A Giveaway!

I haven't participated in this fun event for a very long time. But . . . I love my dining room table, and thought I'd share it with all of you.

I alternated my chargers - 6 black - 6 green - since I only have 6 green.

I love the dishes. They are called
"Happy Holidays" by Nikko. I've had them for about 25 years now .. .

Love the scalloped rim of the plate, and the green edge.

And my Brighton napkin rings. My friend Connie P. gave them to me,
four at a time, each year for Christmas.
Perfect! Four years later . . . I have enough!

My mercury glass acorns are new this year.

And yes I'm a chicken.
I can't bear to light the ornament candles
because I want to keep them forever. :)

My reindeer box. Fitz and Floyd.

Isn't he grand?

For the two years I was PTA President, my Board gave me
all my pieces of Fitz and Floyd.  Wait'll I show you my HUTCH!!!
(but that's another day!)

Candlesticks too!

While we're here, lets peek at the sideboard . . .

My husband and I had a WONDERFUL time
hanging these mercury glass ornaments from the mirror (NOT!).

I am thrilled that I have been able to
incorporate more pink into my Christmas decor this year.
And without a single complaint from the men!

I have tried and tried, all different angles, all different weather,
all different times of day, and just cannot get a good
shot of the sideboard. Too much glare!
But my flash looks kinda cool - huh?

Finally, my teacup shelf. With my modest little banner that I made,
with just a simple message to all who dine here.
"Good tidings of comfort and joy"

Thank you to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for allowing me to join in once again with this fun party.

Before I forget!  Lyneen - from Dreaming of Castles - is having a MARVELOUS giveaway.

Lots of fun ephemera to use to create some wonderful timeless treasures. Be sure to go by her blog and enter!!

And one more thing - I've found the cutest new blog (well, she's new to me!) Go check out Kendall at Finesse Your Nest. She has some wonderful posts!
And for a bit of Belgium inspiration this Holiday season - please make friends with my "old" friend Mieke at Arts and Herbs. She takes you on some fascinating tours around Belgium with marvelous history, that we just don't have here in the states.

I'm posting this kind of early so I don't forget!!!

Thanks for visiting!!! I can't wait to see all the other gorgeous tablescapes!!!

Karen, your table is just gorgeous. I love your china and all of the accessory pieces are stunning. YOur Fitz and Floyd is so pretty, but then I think all of Fitz and Floyd is just beautiful, but the reindeer and the candlesticks are especially nice. I really like the pink on the sideboard and the chicken wire cloche filled with all the ornaments is tooooooooo neat. You knew I would spot that right away didn't you. Everything is just gorgeous. Glad you are going to use the "Blessing/Prayer" ornaments. It really makes each ornament special. Hugs, Marty

Hi Karen - your table is so pretty! Those dishes are just like my mom's and I think I have the same glasses! Everything looks simply stunning!

I think I'm going to have to bow out of the "doors" this year - I'm just not going to be ready :-(
I hate it. . . but I really want to participate if you have another one soon - maybe a spring-ish one?
Thanks for putting my blog on your side bar, but I think you'd better remove me for now. I'm sorry! We are doing the actual moving on this Sat - the big stuff and I don't even think my computer will be hooked up and I can't even remember when they are coming to hook up my internet access!

Good luck and I hope it is a success! said...

I really like the napkins and rings. Then when I read where they were from, that was even better. How sweet of your friend to gift them to you like that.
