Longing for Winter . . .

While most of the country is experiencing frigid weather and harsh conditions, Southern California is having Springtime weather. I long for winter . . . for rain, for snow in our mountains, for cold weather. But . . . not in the forecast. Maybe by next Wednesday, we might get a sprinkle or two . . . we'll see.

This was this mornings sunrise, taken from my studio window. It's supposed to be near 80 again today.

Have a good weekend everyone!

What gorgoeus pictures. We have warmer weather by the afternoon, but it has been in the 40's here in the morning. For the desert this is called cold, or at least to me. Guess my poor old body can't take too much cold anymore. It is strange to turn on the heat since most of the time the AC is running. Hope you have a super weekend. Hugs, Marty

Oh my dear Karen,
I wish I could bottle up some of my snow and cold and send it your way! We just got buried in more snow the other day, and I have to admit it's gorgeous outside the window, but it's the nasty cold I don't like. Next week were supposed to get up in the thirties and it will feel like a Heat Wave! I got stuck again yesterday trying to make it up the big hill near my house, not enough sand on it and I just kind of slid back down. Third time this week! I am starting to get very irritated at the County Snow Plow guys who aren't putting out enough salt and sand. Today, we have a family Christmas and the kids are supposed to go snow tubing but it just might be too cold for them. Sooo, I am wishing you a happy week-end and I will try to get lot's of snow pics for you!
Hugs, Cindy

Since you don't have snow, I think you deserve it. I always feel that way in early winter...just wanting that 1st snowfall.

Your sunrise pictures are gorgeous. I love the silhouette of the feathery tree on the right...

Have a wonderful weekend!! :-)

Karen,
I am sitting here in Dallas freezing my patootie OFF! My husband just pointed out to me that there is ice in the pool. Can you believe it? We did have a white Christmas, which was thrilling but...I'm over it already.

Hi Karen, That sky is gorgeous! There is that old saying about red sky at morning... So maybe your weather is about to change! Enjoy your weekend and we are now in about our third week of temps in the teens! A bit cold for our part of the country! Hugs, Ganky

My little pond is frozen solid. The water that pours into it is frozen solid. I long for warm days. I'm already tired of winter, and we rarely see anything like this. I am seriously jealous.

It amazes me how different the weather can be from there to here. I haven't paid attention to the actually degrees but we're pretty cold in Central California! No where near the 80's!

My sister is trying to talk all of into moving down there(Ventura). I'd love to but I'm afraid Hubby would never go for it. When we moved into Grandpa's house he happily told everyone the next time he moves he wont be taking anything with him. I guess we'll just have to visti down there more often in the winter!
Hugs,
Dawn

Karen,
Enjoy the warm weather!! I am from Louisiana and it is soooooo cold. I can't wait until it warms up. We have been in the teens the past 4 nights and it doesn't warm up much during the day. When it finally does warm up, I am going to try real hard not to say, "It is sooo hot"!!!
