Sweet heart

My mailman was good to me yesterday. Look what came.
I won it from a give away from Sonia at Vintage Rose Designs.
It is filled with Lavender and smells positively luscious.
I put it in my bedroom and even my husband asked what it was.
A velvet ribbon bow, pretty lace . . . too cute.
Thank you so much Sonia. I just love it.

You know what I loved about winning this. (Don't get me wrong, I love winning!) but this was just so nice. It wasn't over the top, it didn't cost a ton of money, and it was handmade. Now it will be memorable. That to me made it the perfect prize. I'm guilty of over doing it too, but I'm not going to any more. If I want to share something sweet I've either found or made, I will. But I'm not going to break the bank putting together a giveaway and spending $20 on postage alone - trying to get people to sign up to follow me. If someone thinks my blog is worthy of coming back to - I'll be thrilled. If not - no hard feelings - there are a lot of blogs out there to explore. I think I would rather enter a swap - I'm having so much fun with the few I've been involved in lately.

I guess I'm "spring cleaning" my brain and my blog. And I think this is good thing. I hope I don't offend anyone - that is so not my intention.

Have a great day! It rained here last night and today the sun is shining and everything is just sparkling. It is so pretty - just one of God's little gifts to us.

XOXOXO

Good Morning Karen Sweetie...
I so love this post. You are as cute as a bug. You could never offend anyone sweetie, never. Your heart is as big as CA altogether. I so enjoyed visiting with you and getting the chance to know you these last 2 visits. Never long enough.

I adore your beautiful lavender filled heart. It is so beautiful. I love the colors and the textures your blogging friend chose to use. How gorgeous it is. Love it.

Thank you for sharing today. We are going to be having our next AZ luncheon the end of the month (27th). Jamie and I are going to host it. We are expecting possible 20 ladies this time. We are going to be posting about it as soon as Jamie gets a definite luncheon seating for us. We will be somewhere downtown I believe.

Have a gorgeous weekend sweetie. Please know that you are so loved. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi Karen, The heart is very pretty! Even though it can also be nice to win something store bought, a handmade gift is always more special. I don't think anyone will be offended.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Julia

I agree as well -- good thoughts here. Love your sweet heart -- it's often the small gifts that touch me the most.

I agree with you. I love your heart...I don't like to jump through hoops to get a chance at winning a giveaway. My 400 is coming soon and the ones that read my blog will know about it. You should see my backyard now!!! It turned out so pretty. I am thrilled. I am thinking about doing another swap. Still in the thinking stage. Have a good day my friend.

I am with you Sister! I don't like to ask for followers in a giveaway either. Girl, I get attached to people and don't want just a big number:) Love that sweet heart and I know you will find the most special place to display it!

Hugs from Georgia!

Your little heart is so pretty. What a lucky winner you are. I love the fabric and the lace. And lavender...hmmm.

I totally agree with you on your viewpoint. I love swaps, too, but there is always that feeling that you are going to receive more than you gave...And I admit, homemade is much better, I am just not very crafty. I think I have learned a lot about the mailing of packages and ways to cut costs. It is possible. But I have learned the hard way and have paid way too much in the past. It really is the postage that is the killer because I think we are all savvy shoppers and there are ways to not overspend on the giveaway of swap.

Enough said. Enjoy your sunshine and have a wonderful day! :-)

xoxo

Oh girl...I'm so in love with Sonia's heart! And filled with lavender??? WOW!!!! Sonia always sews up the most beautiful things...(sigh)

I am SO with you on these nutty giveaways and followings. If I was in my right mind, I'd take that darn follower square off of my blog...but...I'm too nosey. I know, I'm bad. But I don't feel it's right to have to become a follower in order to enter some of these giveaways. I am SO with you girl...

You are so right about this giveaway thing ! Some giveaways seem to be a contest in abundance, it's so much nicer to give a small, personal, handmade present instead of buying the shops empty...

What a sweet gift. I think the variety of giveaways is fun. Some are small, some seem over the top...but, they may be sponsored. I've done one on my own and one sponsored. I doubt that I will ever do anything handmade (they might send it back) but I think it is just as special to win something handcrafted and small as it is to win something big. It is the fun of getting the package and usually the note from the giver. It should be fun for both...not stressful.

You are so right on girlfriend! I just love the homemade or even the great GW finds! It just seems to mean more. But I do have to admit, I LOVED THE LOOT, when I won your give-away! hehe. OK, I'll try not to sound greedy!
Anyway, congrats and the weather sounds lovely out your way. We were in the mid 40's today and I think people were looking for their shorts! Big Hugs, Cindy

It's beautiful! I love the idea of swaps! There are so many talented bloggers out there. You are included in that bunch!

Hi Karen, This handcrafted heart is about as good as it gets. And I agree. This current giveaway I'm having is celebrating creative talent from one of my blogging sisters. Handmade beauty and goodness. I like this idea. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for sharing this beautiful heart!
hugs,
Debra

Hi Karen, I'm with you on loving the hand made. And this heart it a lovely example of what a great prize is in a giveaway. I won the most wonderful giveaway from Tracie the other day though, and some of it was from her shop, which I think is wonderful when you have an on-line shop. With my last little booboo with adding a link to my sidebar, I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon.
thank you for your kind message that you left for me, it always means so much coming from you.
hugs

KAREN, I dont even know where to start here because OH MY GOSH!!! You dont even know how much I agree with you!! I love this giveaway for the same reasons!! WHY do we feel the need to spend so much on giveaways and swaps?? It makes it so hard on everyone else!!! Not everyone can do that. And what you won is BEAUTIFUL and from the heart and HANDMADE!! What is more perfect??? WONDERFULLY put Karen!
I want to thank you so much for the comment you left on my blog! It really made me smile. I adore you, you are such a doll!
Big Hugs,
Amy
