Spring Rain

I was raised by learning in school that "April showers bring May flowers". Only in Southern California, some of the flowers bloom in March. My azaleas have already had their first show and are now gearing up for round two. Winter pansies are almost done, and the tomatoes and bean vines are large and strong. So to get a nice, hard "April shower" overnight was a gift from the Heavens.

Is there anything more gorgeous? To wake up to a beautiful cloudless deep dark blue sky, everything wet and sparkling . . . sigh. One of God's little gifts. Rain. And for those of you who don't appreciate it, fear it, hate it . . . I'm sorry. I just love it.

Here is a little of my morning . . . with a few new things we worked on putting together in the back yard over the weekend. It's not finished yet so you only get a sneak peek . . .

I cannot think of the last time the rain came in
from the north . . . to get the back door and screen wet.

My small statue "Little Scholar" amongst the
Hydrangeas and Calla Lilies
Everything is wet and clean! Our new little firepit . . .
And maybe a new counter or something . . .
Out the front door . . .
The geraniums are in FULL bloom - all around the yard :)
Yep - this is one of those "diamond days".

Happy Monday! Hugs to all!

Looks so lovely. I just got home from the hospital after having emergency gall bladder surgery. I am pretty sick, I was there for 5 days. I wanted to say hi, and now I need to go lie down.

Hi Karen...

Oooh...your yard and patio is just lovely, my friend!!! I am a bit envious though, we have just begun to turn green out here in Colorful Colorado...no flowers yet! It's hard to imagine that you've had flowers for awhile now...awesome! Well my dear, I think your yard and patio look absolutely fabulous after that rain...like you said, so fresh and clean!!! I too, just love the rain!!! Of course, we live in a very arid region so any rain is always a blessing!!! Love your new firepit...I'm sure that you'll have many an enjoyable night around it!

I just wanted to thank you for stopping by and taking a little peek at my Peter Cottontail vignette...I really enjoyed your sweet note! Thanks so much for coming by!!!

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

This is the time of year when I miss living in California. I woke up to more snow today. It got old in December.
Your yard is so beautiful. I would love coming home to it every day. Not to mention your house...not too hard to take, Karen, you lucky gal. lol.
