Snowmen . . .

This photo has nothing to do with anything.
I thought it might just cheer up those of you
who are sweltering in the hot July heat.
It is a little tiny snowman I made on a picnic table
camping up in the sierras in 2008.
We were caught in a blizzard :)
Yes the same one I shared with you
on Mark's birthday.
My "follower" picture of me was taken that trip too!

Anyway -
Today shall be an interesting day.
Well . . . maybe - maybe not.
I am finally going to do something about my feet.

I know I have plantar faschitus (sp).
And heel spurs.
But now - I feel like I am tearing
the achilles tendons in both legs.
It's a strange burning hot sensation
that shoots up the back of my legs
when I move wrong.
Hmmmmm . . .

And I'm tired of it.
I'm tired of wearing my
grubby slip on tennie's with inserts
when I'd rather wear cute sandals.
Tired of hobbling around here
feeling like I'm 90 years old.

So I'm going in for X-rays.
Gotta see what's up.
Dr. appt. Monday morning first thing.
I hope it's something really simple . . .
but just don't think so.
Whatever it is . . .
I am finally ready to deal with it.

I've always liked my feet.
In fact - I think they are cute.
Perfectly shaped.
But right now I don't like
them too much.
I'm getting a pedicure this morning
(of course!)
then in for X-rays this afternoon.

So we shall see.

I apologize for not doing too much
with the Sorority right now.
Be patient with me . . .
I do have some irons in the fire
but August is going to
be a zoo here,
so if anyone else
would like to host something

In the meantime . . .
Remember this
cute little car of mine?
My Infiniti G37 Coupe. Sigh.
Love it, love it, love it!
Love my car - but . . .
it's almost time to say good-bye.
My lease is up in a few weeks.
I'm getting something new . . .
something a little more practical.
Do you know how many yards sales
I've gone to and can't buy what I want
cause it won't fit in this
cute little red car?
:) Stay tuned.

Ahhhhhh - the drama of life.
Good grief Charlie Brown!

Have a great weekend everyone!

My dear friend, my feet are UGLY! I told you this morning about my bunion surgery... well, it was done NOT by a podiatrice (sp?) but a bone doctor. And honestly I could have it again but will just deal with the uglies. I pray you get some relief from the pain. I guess if you lived closer we could both get our feet fixed:) and recoop together! Love you bunches! HUGS!

I hope it will be something easy to heal. We forget them easily when all is well but good feet are so important.

Oh Karen I feel your pain. I too suffer from plantar faciitis. I was diagnosed with it in late '08. But it has gotten progressively more painful, and I too am going to go check it out again. The initial $300.00 customized orthodic inserts the podiatrist ordered for my feet are not doing the job anymore. So I have to go and see what is going on. I have the same symptoms you are describing, and am bummed at having to wear grandma shoes! LOL! Anyway.. hope they figure out what is going on with your feetsies!!Hugs!

The snowman is too cute as I sit here under a fan and it is 100 degrees outside. I am reading a book about winter in Newfoundland to do the same sort of thing you did with the snowman! Hope your feet get well. I had foot surgery in 08 and my pain improved (bunion removal) but foot surgery is very painful and do not let anyone even a doctot tell you different. I wish for you beautiful summer sandals♦♦♦ olive

When I saw that snowman I went NO, NO, NO!!! Not for a long time!! I am enjoying our heat! We have dew points in the 70's today and it's about mid 80's and I love it!!
Probably because last year we didn't even have a summer.
Now for the feet. Good luck with that. My problem is my overly high arches. I can't fit my feet into hardly anything.
And you have cute little feet, lucky you!
Have a great weekend my friend,

I love that cute little snowman~and your little red sports die for! But you are right not good for bringing home those garage sale purchases...that's why I drive around in my big 'ol truck!

Good luck with your feet! I can't imagine my feet hurting like that~funny how we take them for granted until hey hurt!!

Just wanted to say good luck with your footsies....that can be painful. A
few years back I had terrible pain in my feet and then my achilles in both feet. I had to go for therapy. When I first went I could hardly walk at all.
All is well now.
Hope things go well for you. We can wait. It's a busy time of the year anyway.

I'm so sorry about your feet, Karen! I had heel spurs for a couple of years....kept thinking I was going to have to get something done about it, and then they just took care of themselves! They hurt like the devil, don't they? Sounds like you've got more involved though, don't you? You'll be back to normal in no time, I'm sure!

Hope your weekend is wonderful!

What a neat post....talking about our feet. I have people tease me about having a big toe, but just like you, I think my feet are cute! I'm so glad that I'm not perfect; it would be such a hard thing to be every day! Thanks for reminding me! Roz at La Bella Vita

I'm brand new and enjoying my morning reading your blog and HELLO to all the ladies here on your fun blog! I'll pray you are soon walking on clouds(I know those foot problems OH SO WELL myself and should go to a Doc. I'm probably not alone when I say(we'll all be awaiting your EVERY move). I'm following you and I'm "BRAND NEW" and could use LOTS of followers too to peek in on me now and then??? so if you would be a peach and join me too I would be "tickled pink". I'm over here in New England(Connecticut), heart of the 4 seasons. I TRIED putting your BUTTON on my blog BUT being new I have more problems than a math book(wow I haven't heard that term in eons)... OH I agree with the cute red car going. I could NEVER own anything other than an SUV, VAN, and Pick up Truck... Hope you see you "visiting soon"... I'll be praying for those twinkle toes of yours,

Hey Sweet Karen,

Everything is going to be OK. I always think 'times of trouble' bring us to prayer and prayer to Our Heavenly Father.

I'm jealous that you have cute feet! LOL. I'm SOL (smiling out loud), mine aren't too left foot toes have been acting really goofy and they make the 'peace sign'. It's WAY TOO funny and now I've shared this with the blogging world, I'm totally embarrased but honest. Some things we just have to accept and make the best out of right?

Just remember you have the prayers of your many Sisters and everything is going to be OK.

The red car...OH...SO cute! I agree though they can't carry much. One of my girl friends has a little truck called 'Charity'. She loans it out, w/o cost whenever it's needed. What a wonderful kindness huh?

I'm glad you liked my little inspirational story. I can't wait to read the others at 'I owe it all to Him' blogspot. Did you notice...I'm blogging more? And YES, I love being a Bloggerttee!!!

Hi, I popped over from Patty's site and enjoyed reading your posts and admiring your sweet family.

So many of your lovely photos reminded me of when I was much younger and my parents would take us camping with their much beloved camper - from Southern California beaches like Laguna on up to Northern California beaches like Patrick's Point with its cool agates!

Thank you for such delighful memories AND the adorable snowman (I feel cooler already!).

I am praying for you and your feet! Have a blessed week.

We are having the hottest weekend of the year here in Portland, Oregon. I have on wool. They think 60 is hot here, and if it happens to hit 80 they will come undone. (grinnin' back atcha) ;)
